Space Dweeb
Space Dweeb, published in the Spring 2025, takes place on a faraway planet and puts my hero, Artie, at his sixth school and he's only nine years old.
Artie has been the new kid too many times. All he really wants is to make a friend, and feel like he belongs.

My Substitute Teacher is a Chicken
"Chicken" was hatched as I started my post-marketing career as a newly minted substitute, working in a variety of schools.
My Substitute follows Abby Hoozit as her new substitute teacher, Mrs. Gluck, does very little teaching, and a whole lot of "buk-ing" as her
second-grade class falls into chaos.
Abby is absolutely convinced that her new substitute was born as an egg, and supports Mrs. Gluck as she runs amok in the school.
The book was partly created as a reaction to my first picture book for kids, Pablo Penguin, Apprentice to Pirates. As I shared Pablo with a class of second-graders in my hometown, One of the students asked why I'd chosen a penguin as my lead character. Before I could reply, she continued,
"a chicken would have been funnier".
I couldn't argue with her logic.

Pablo Penguin, Apprentice to Pirates
A young penguin named Pablo finds himself lost in a town, and looks for a way back home. He comes across a pirate ship docked at the wharf and asks the captain for a ride in hopes of returning to his friends and family.
Pablo's adventure begins as he learns to be a sailor aboard a pirate ship.
What Pablo doesn't know is what awaits him as the crew of the Pinafore scramble to prepare to board another ship in the high seas.
